Jenna Switzer is the founder and bath bomb extraordinaire at Vital You. We are so proud to carry an array of her bath bombs and collaborate with her company for an exciting event this month. We took some time to sit down with Jenna and learn more about her journey with Vital You and CBD.
How did your journey with Vital You begin?
I launched Vital You in 2018. At the time I was dealing with undiagnosed chronic pelvic pain, which a few years later I would learn was endometriosis and may thurner. I went to school for herbal medicine and holistic nutrition so I tried using that knowledge to support my own healing. I would take baths and bring ingredients like CBD and essential oils into the water which brought me so much relief. I thought, there has to be a way to alchemise all these ingredients into one product. I began working in my kitchen and I built a line of products for specific ailments and conditions that would help target what customers needed help with. It has now since grown out of my kitchen to a beautiful space in east boulder with an incredible five person team of incredibly talented women.
What inspired you to incorporate CBD into your products?
In 2018 I was using CBD internally a lot and I would notice the effects, but not achieve the experience I really wanted to. I began discussing with cannabis industry friends about topicals and their unique benefits. I started bringing CBD into the bath and began experiencing the effects I had been searching for. I get really excited about transdermal and topical products. Your skin is your largest organ and has a quick absorption time versus taking it internally. With this knowledge I began putting CBD in everything I put on my body.
How do you like to use CBD?
Topically mostly, but I also really enjoy smoking it. When I pop by Boulder CBD I love picking up a joint to relax at the end of the day.
